The Information System and Technology department's mission is to optimize and coordinate the use of technology to support delivery of exceptional public services. The Information Technology department is tasked with IT policy and planning, PC-related services, application development, implementation, and hosting, server network, and security administration, voice and data communications and IT education.
NUD's IT group is a full service division responsible for:
- The Districts servers and networks both physical and wireless. The IT division supports physical servers, virtual servers, desktop PC's, laptops, tablets and truck mounted connectivity.
- The Geographical Information Systems - designing, implementing, managing and maintaining the enterprise-wide mapping and spatial analysis tools and mapping applications.
- Application Development - The IT division creates most of the applications it uses on a daily basis, supporting the Operations, Engineering and Finance groups.
