UPDATE 7/12/21: The Northshore Utility District will be holding a dedication ceremony for former Commissioner Don Ellis on July 16, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and its offices will be closed during this time. The ceremony is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Parking is limited and there will be signage directing attendees to where the ceremony will be held. Northshore Utility District’s long time Commissioner, Don Ellis, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2021.

A Kenmore resident for over 50 years, Don Ellis originally joined the Northshore Utility District Board of Commissioners in 1967 and has served continuously since.

Don took his responsibility of serving the community very seriously. He was a strong advocate for the needs and concerns of utility district customers, whom he referred to as the “owners” of the utility. Don was committed to ensuring any customer concern or issue was promptly addressed and appropriately resolved.

In addition to his long service with the utility district, Don also served on the Northshore Fire Department’s Board of Commissioners for over 28 years. Between these two Boards, Commissioner Ellis has been very active serving on numerous local and regional committees, dedicating countless hours working with others for the betterment of the community.

Commissioner Ellis’ influence has been instrumental in developing numerous improvements to the quality of services provided by the Northshore Utility District. His presence and leadership will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
